Something New and Different

Okay, so....it's true that I specialize in children and family portrature. But isn't it fun to step out of your comfort zone once and a while?

That's just what I did with a friend who wanted a boudoir photo session. Really, so fun to step outside of my 'normal' and try some more artistic photography. It was all about shadows, light, extreme angles...all kinds of things that I was really interested in.
Now, this is a family show, so don't worry...these are suitable for public viewing. (grin) Granted, they aren't images of sparkly eyed children, but are so beautiful.

She's making a fine art book for her husband's birthday with her images...is he the luckiest guy ever?

Almost Five

My sweet niece Madelyn is almost five.
I remember so well the day she was born, as I myself was just four months away from having our third and last baby. I just knew that Madelyn and Rachel would be great friends. And now five years later, no matter how long it's been that they've seen eachother, they pick right back up where they left off and away they go.

Little girls are great like that.

Lexi-Lou With Eyes So Blue

Just like her pretty cousin Mary Kate - http://eriniviephoto.blogspot.com/2008/08/i-think-she-liked-me-better-this-time.html - she's another sweetheart who I've been photographing since she was born. They are family, though...I get first dibs!

I could make a whole album of outakes with all the silly faces she made for me...

But with a bit of patience, a little luck and four little girls standing behind me acting silly, I captured a bit of magic, too.

So fun!

Brennah is Six Months Old

This morning's session was with another little one on my Baby Plan, and we had THE most beautiful day. I realized as I was leaving that besides her hospital portrait, I'm the only photographer to have taken pictures of Brennah...and I swear I almost teared up! How special that I get to document her life for her mom and dad, and what an important job I have.

While I was there I managed to grab a few shots of Brennah's big brother and sister, who I've also photographed before. They are old pros at my 'No Smile' face that I'm always trying to get out of little ones.

See, I'm retraining the Tri-State one family at a time! Just Say No to CHEESE!

Until next time

Three for the Price of One

Isn't it funny how different multiples end up being from eachother, despite the fact they are always together? Without even knowing these little girls, you can tell from the images just how different each one is.

Dress them the same - treat them the same...still the fact that they are unique individuals trump everything else.
What amazing little creatures children are.

Mr. Benjamin, Part Deux

You know what I love about offering The Baby Plan? Well, there are lots of things, but the best part is simply that I feel like I get to know the families and really enjoy spending time with them. It's also SO cool to get to watch the baby change and grow - it happens so quickly that it seems to be right before my eyes.

Here was Ben from his session in May -

And here he was today on this most glorious Saturday afternoon. Now at nine months old, he's sitting & crawling everywhere...just three short months ago he was laying in my basket. Now there is no stopping him.

Aren't babies amazing?

Baby Brother's Baby...

...is going to be one next month. How can this be?

I dare you not to smile at Sweet Isaac.

You are smiling, aren't you? See, it's impossible not to when you look at this happy boy.

I Think She Liked Me Better This Time...

Remember this post a while back?
http://eriniviephoto.blogspot.com/2008/03/what-she-thought-of-her-photo-session.html

Well Sweet Mary Katherine is six months old now, and I think I've finally won her over. She put up with me and my big giant camera without even one obscene finger gesture!

I was even able to capture some of her sweet smiles.

Don't you just love her?

Shelbi, Class of 2009

Man do I love photographing teenagers! They don't run from me, I don't have to act crazy to get them to look at the camera...none of that stuff! Now don't get me wrong, give me a four year old and I'm happy as a clam, but it's sure a fun change of pace now and then.

It's July (well, August now!) so it's Senior Picture time. Today's beautiful model was a dream subject. Beautiful skin, great big blue eyes and her hair...oh, her hair. Like Goldie Locks, I tell ya. So fun!

Here are a few sneak peeks for Shelbi and her family...there are so many beauties that I had a hard time picking just three!

Until next time
